The Forest Recreation Ground
Forest Recreation Ground, Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 6HB
Venue for Nottingham's Famous Goose Fair and many other events throughout the year.
Historically forming part of Sherwood Forest, 'The Forest' used to be a horse-racing ground, and was also the first ground of Nottingham Forest Football Club, hence their name. The Forest has been the location of the Goose Fair since the 1930's, and is also the venue for the annual Bonfire Night firework display, and a host of other celebrations. In 2015, it was a stage finishing post for the Tour of Britain cycle race. The Forest has also recently attracted investment from various sources to create state-of-the-art sports facilities, a licensed up-market café and outdoor gym. At it's Western edge is one of Nottingham's main tram stops and Park & Ride car park, giving access to the whole of the local public transport system.
